Failure to Stop at a Red Light

The Highway Traffic Act, section 144.18 illuminates this fact and set out the laws that also prescribes penalties for the disobedience to the traffic lights. For instance, section 144.18 states that, “Every driver approaching a traffic control signal showing a circular red indication and facing the indication shall stop his or her vehicle and shall not proceed until a green indication is shown.” This clear message indicates the authorities repulsion to that infraction, aside the danger that it poses to the general public.
